Outlook Red Cross ( X ) Issue Part 2

Images In Outlook Become Red Cross (X)

If all of the sudden the images that you were able to view previously become red cross (X) when you open the same mail again and if you have try these http://x-security.blogspot.com/2009/09/outlook-red-cross-x-issue.html steps and it does not resolve the problem. Close outlook and open up registry.  Navigate and delete the value highlighted in red.

Outlook 2003
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
Delete this value: OutlookSecureTempFolder

Outlook 2007
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security
Delete this value: OutlookSecureTempFolder

Once you deleted the value, fire outlook again and the value should re-create itself.  You should be able to see the images that is mark red cross again.

Unprotect Document On Words 2003

Remove password from a protected documents or forms

If you have forgotten the password on a protected document for Words 2003. You should be able to reset it using the following steps.

- Open the protected word sheet.
- Navigate to Tools --> Marco --> Microsoft Script Editor or your can press Alt+Shift+F11

If you receive a spam mail with the heading ‘Subject: Fedex Tracking N5421062126’. You must not open the attachment TR768212.zip that contain a virus filename TR768212.exe.









Antivirus Pro 2010 is a Trojan virus displays fake security alerts in your Windows task bar. It states that your computer is unprotected and it will auto install itself.  Read HERE for more infomation on scareware.


filename.xls could not be found...

When you try to open and excel worksheet by clicking on the filename. You will get an error message "File cannot be found. Check the spelling of the file name and verify that the file location is correct. If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files on the file menu, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted."










Enable ActiveX Download on my Browser

ActiveX download or installation is block by the information bar.
How to enable ActiveX for Internet Explorer?

- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to Tools and click Internet Options.
- Click on Security tab
- Click on Custom level. 

If the Custom level button is Greyed out.  Go to the following link to enable it.

- On the Security Settings - Internet Zone setting, Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls.



- On the Security Settings - Internet Zone setting, Enable Automatic prompting for file downloads.



- Click Ok.
- Click Yes to confirm changes.
- Click Ok again.
